At
least 5 weeks before the birthday, select your location for
the party. If the birthday is on a weekday and you think
people may not turn up, plan it on the weekend right after the
birthday. Book your venue in advance in order to avoid any
last minute rush.
-
Sit down with your child and decide whom all you want to
invite. Ask the kid his/her expectations and then decide the
budget. It is not that kids will always demand ponies and
clowns. You will be pleasantly surprised when your kid says
that he wants a party at the local restaurant with close
friends.
-
Next decide your budget. Calculate an approximate figure that
will be the expenditure for the entire party. This includes
food, games, amusement, favors, decorations and invitations.
-
Appoint 2-3 responsible adults to take care of certain duties
like organizing games, themes and decorations. You can stick
to sending out invitations, shopping and deciding the menu. Do
not attempt at doing everything by yourself.
-
Thanks to the
developing technology, today we have digital cameras at
our disposable, so you do not need to worry about rolls.
Just make sure that you insert new batteries before the
party. However, in case you have the roll camera, make
sure that there is sufficient roll.
-
Cake is the
most important aspect of a birthday party. Place the order
for the cake at least a week before the birthday. While
ordering, make sure you take your kid along so that he/she
can order his/her favorite flavor cake.
-
Arrange for
the crockery, such as, plates, glasses, spoons and other
items that might be required in the party much in advance.
-
Hire enough
chairs and make sure that each guest gets his/ her own
seat. It would be wrong on your part, if they are made to
stand the whole while.
-
Set your music
player and arrange for the CDs much in advance. Make sure
that it compliments the ambience, theme and mood of the
party.
-
Make sure that
you leave nothing for the last moment. This would not only
make you relaxed, but also give you the opportunity to
enjoy the party, without any tensions.
